What are AMK Dental Clinic’s patient guides?
AMK Dental Clinic’s patient guides are plain-language articles that explain common dental questions in more depth than our service pages. They are written for patients and families in Mortlake, Breakfast Point, Cabarita, Concord and the surrounding area.
Each guide draws on Australian sources, such as Services Australia, healthdirect and the Australian Dental Association, and links to them so you can check the details yourself. Every guide is clinically reviewed and shows the date it was last checked, because government programs, fees and caps change over time.
Our guides give general information only. They are not a substitute for advice about your own teeth, which your dentist can give you after an examination.
Which guides are available?
Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)
Child Dental Benefits Schedule: a guide for families explains the Medicare program that helps with the cost of basic dental care for eligible children aged 0 to 17. It covers who is eligible, how the two-year benefit cap works, what is and isn’t covered, how to check your child’s balance, and what to bring to an appointment.

How are the guides kept up to date?
Each AMK Dental Clinic guide is reviewed at least once a year, and sooner when a government program or its rules change. For example, the Child Dental Benefits Schedule cap is indexed on 1 January each year, so we check that guide every January against Services Australia. The date at the bottom of each guide shows when it was last reviewed. If you notice something that looks out of date, please tell us so we can check it.
Where can I find short answers?
