Who is AMK Dental Clinic?
AMK Dental Clinic is a family and cosmetic dental practice in Mortlake, in Sydney’s Inner West, offering general and children’s dentistry, Invisalign, dental implants, Zoom whitening, CEREC same-day crowns and microscope-assisted dentistry.
The practice is locally owned and sits at Shop 3, 46 Tennyson Road, Mortlake. We see patients of all ages, from a child’s first visit when their first teeth appear to adults who need check-ups, fillings, crowns or tooth replacement. Many of our patients come from Mortlake and nearby suburbs such as Breakfast Point, Cabarita, Concord and Rhodes.

At AMK Dental Clinic, your dentist explains your options, the risks and the costs before any treatment starts. We think you should understand what is being recommended and why, and have time to decide.
In practice, that means:
- An examination first. Your dentist looks at your teeth, gums and mouth, and takes X-rays only where they are needed.
- Options, not a single answer. Where there is more than one reasonable way to treat a problem, including doing nothing for now, we explain each one.
- Benefits and risks. Every treatment has benefits, risks and limits. Your dentist will talk them through with you and answer your questions.
- A written, itemised estimate. You receive the fees and item numbers in writing before treatment, so you can check what your health fund covers. See fees and health funds.
- Your decision. You are welcome to take the plan home, ask more questions or seek a second opinion.

- Dr Ali Khalessi (Dentist) is a general dentist who graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago, New Zealand, in 2001. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Periodontology) and is a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (MRACDS). - Noora Ebrahimi, Clinic Director. Noora holds a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from the University of Otago and an MBA from the University of Technology Sydney.
- Letticia Abi Ghosn, Practice Manager. Letticia holds a Certificate III in Dental Assisting and joined the practice in 2013.
Is AMK Dental Clinic accredited?
Yes. AMK Dental Clinic is accredited by QIP (Quality Innovation Performance), an independent healthcare accreditation agency.
Accreditation is an independent check of how a health service manages safety and quality. The NSQHS Standards were developed by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care and cover areas such as clinical governance, partnering with consumers, preventing and controlling infections, and medication safety. For private dental practices, accreditation is voluntary, so the practice has chosen to be assessed.

Dr Khalessi has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Breakfast Point, including serving as the club’s president. Rotary clubs are volunteer service groups that raise funds and organise projects for local and international causes.
